About MyBella

Why MyBella exists.

AAC technology can be life-changing, but communication is deeply personal. The words someone needs at breakfast may be completely different from the words they need at school, during an activity, or with family.

MyBella explores how adaptive technology can make AAC interfaces more responsive to each person’s routines, preferences, and communication patterns, while keeping the user in control of what they ultimately choose to say.

Meet the Founder

Ashley

MyBella started with my cousin Isabella. I’ve been around communities of people with autism and other neurodevelopmental differences for as long as I can remember, but it was visiting Isabella in Brazil and seeing how few good, affordable communication tools were actually available to her there that this really became personal.

I kept chasing that through ACEing Autism, a nonprofit I’ve volunteered with and helped run as a program director for one of our chapters. And for the past year, I’ve built this app alongside the person it’s actually for, testing every version with Isabella, and with my aunt and uncle, Padinha and Patricia.

My goal was never just to put AI into an AAC app. It was to do it in a way that’s genuinely secure, genuinely affordable, and genuinely adaptable to the person using it. Communication shouldn’t stop at one language or one country, so MyBella is built to travel into homes, schools, and speech therapy clinics anywhere in the world. It’s now available on the App Store.
